ACHIEVEMENTS TO DATE
Hannah Wood started Judo at 5 years old at Sportif Club Judo. She gained her black belt at the age of 14, a massive achievement as usually a black belt cant be worn until you are at least 15 years old. Hannah is currently the Scottish Champion and has held the title three times, the first being when she was just 11 years old. Hannah now travels all over the world to compete and already this year she has visited Denmark twice, Luxembourg, France and Japan. In the summer Hannah spent 5 weeks training in Tokyo full time. Hannah’s training schedule is intense, 2 to 3 times a week before school with a further 4 times a week with her club. Hannah hopes to continue her travels and compete to gain more success and experience.
Hannah’s achievements and recognition’s to date are hard to believe for someone of her age. Medal’d in several ranking events over Great Britain competing in -52kg category, Hannah won gold in The Copenhagen Cup, Silver in the Matsumae Cup. Awarded Gold at the UK Schools Games in August 2017, a medalist in The Under 19 British Championships and Bronze in the under 21kg British Championship.
Hannah is a member of The Judo Scotland Performance Squad and, due to her recent successes at the British Championships, a member of the British Under 21 Squad.
Hannah has been selected to represent GB at The European Cup in February.
In between her extensive travels and rigorous training schedule, Hannah enjoys spending time socialising with friends when she can outwith her very busy training schedule.
